Lovely cottage, everything we needed for the week catered for, nice welcome gift from the owner. Cottage garden was a sun trap, protected from the cold winds. Pretty village with a lake to walk round. Ideal base for South Lakes Safari Zoo, Lake Coniston, and Lake Windemere. Helpful and friendly host made me feel at home. Self-contained cottage, didn't need to bring anything except food. Clean, tidy, and comfortable with a quiet location for a good night's sleep.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

Host very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Cottage self-contained and well-equipped. Clean, tidy, and comfortable. Peaceful location away from pubs and clubs. Lovely cottage garden and picnic area nearby. Ideal base for exploring the area.
Nothing, it was perfect.

I absolutely adored the charming cottage at The Crook in Great Urswick. The interior design had a cozy vintage vibe, with beautiful floral prints and traditional furniture. It felt like stepping back in time, which is something us senior ladies appreciate. The common areas were impeccably maintained, and I felt comfortable navigating through the corridors and rooms. It was perfect for someone like me who values accessibility and ease of movement.
The only thing I would have asked for to make my vacation even better as a senior woman would be a grab bar in the shower. The children working there were lovely and helpful, but having that extra support would have provided an added sense of security and made my stay even more enjoyable.
